Ben from Age of Aquariums provided this month’s competition prize. The 1st prize winner received an Aqua pro CF-1500 external filter. The competition was for members to submit an image of a "fish portrait", entitled "looking at you". The idea was to show us your best photo of a fish looking directly at the camera. The fish could be of any species, but it had to be a fish! At least one of the fishes eyes had to be looking at the camera, to give the impression that the fish is "looking at you". Judges were looking for clarity of the image, quality of the fish involved, with bonus marks for artistic creativity, and if the fish was really eye balling the camera.

This month's comp required members to submit any photo of an "American cichlid". This was a pretty broad range, so the most people could enter something. Ducksta donated the major prize of the fantastic book, "South American Eartheaters" by Thomas Weidner. Second prize was a breeding pair of Bristlenose, kindly donated by sab.

This month we're looking for shots from the ACE National BBQ. There will be a grand prize on offer for the best shot of a group of fish nuts at the BBQ. This is how it will work. Each location will have the member’s choice for that location. So I will organise a per location based poll to work that out. The winner of each location will receive $20 cash prize. The winners will then have their images voted on in another poll to determine the best shot for the country. The winner of that will receive $100 cash. Competition will close at midnight 28 February

The competition is still open, you can view the competition here
